Epicness - Chapter 8

In front of the startled blue echidna lay two figures. One of them was slightly smaller with black fur, while the other was slightly taller with white fur. Both their eyes were closed, and both were still and lifeless. Blood stains were all over their clothes, in addition to the cuts, bruises and wounds found all over their bodies. The wind picked up, and the rain seemed to be driving down even heavier this time. T2 stared in horror at the bodies that lay, as his worst fear had just been realised.
"No..." whispered T2. He looked at the smaller clump of black fur first. "...Storm?" he said. Then slowly he turned to gaze at the white fur. "...Kiba?"

Sadness. This was the only emotion now rushing through T2, knowing that the love of his life and his daughter now lay lifeless in front of him.
"No... no it's not true!" he shouted.
"I'm sorry..." said Emerald.
"No NO!" he screamed. Losing control he thrust himself forward and landed on his knees and thrust his hands onto the ground. His head, too, was looking to the ground. Multiple tears dripped and fell from his eyes as he cried aloud. He wasn't the only one. Storm and Kiba were also special to Speedy, and she joined T2 in his wailing. Emerald simply stood with her eyes closed in deep respect.
"I should've been there for them..." muttered T2. "Things... might've been different if I was there..." He started growling, as he began to feel extreme guilt. Speedy stopped crying in order to speak.
"T2... it wasn't your fault..." she said quietly.
"OF COURSE IT WAS!" shouted T2, enraged. "I was warned that if I didn't go back home, this would happen! AND I DIDN'T LISTEN!"
"But you didn't kill them!" replied Speedy. She was desperate that T2 didn't blame himself too much. Luckily, she made some sense to him.
"I know I didn't... but what does it matter..." he said. "They're still dead... still dead..."

T2 once again started to weep, and his waling was complimented by the crying of Speedy. The blue echidna looked up, moved his arms forward, and slowly lifted Kiba from her resting position. Her arms dropped and her head bent back. He slowly lifted her head back up as he put his arms around her for a final hug. As he did, he remembered all the moments he had spent with her. When they first met, when they first went out together, when they moved in together, when their daughter was born. T2 remembered every living moment he spent with her and it only made him cry louder. He would never live those memories again.
He then brought his head up to his love's, and slowly kissed her on the cheek.
"Goodbye..." he said. "You were so pure... passionnate... you deserve to sleep well,"

After his final moments with her, T2 layed Kiba back on the ground. He turned his head to gaze at Storm, who layed silent. He put his hand on her head and slowly rubbed it.
"Rest easy, Storm," he said. "There is no other daughter in the world like you..." And he slowly moved it away. Tears were falling down his eyes as he smiled, but he didn't smile long. Once again, his emotion took over and was overwhelmed with sorrow and guilt. The rain made it hard to tell which droplets of water came from which source. Emerald spoke up.
"I promise, I will find Nasya and stop her... and I will make sure she pays for this..." she said as her green eyes stared purely at T2, confirming her assurance.

T2 stopped crying. He slowly began to stand up. His face was still wet with rain and tears, but now he had a serious look on his face. A hint of anger, but he wasn't enraged. He stepped forward and slowly lifted Storm from the ground and placed her on his left shoulder. As he did, the rain slowly fell less and less. Speedy, who was still crouched, was surpised and amazed. T2 then lifted Kiba from the ground and placed her on his right shoulder, and once again, the rain started to fall less.

"Let's go," said T2. Holding his family tight, T2 stepped forward to leave the alley, and make way to the exit of the city. Speedy immediately stood up and ran after him. Emerald stayed where she was, unsure if she should go as well. Then T2 spoke again. "All of us. We will all leave together,"
This brightened Emerald, knowing she could come. She quickly left the alley to catch up to T2 and Speedy. As they were leaving the city, the rain virtually stopped and the clouds were beginning to clear. In the distance, sunrise could be seen. The yellow from the circle star shined upon the landscapes. T2 let out his first smile in the past half an hour.
Things can only get better from here...

T2, Speedy, Kiba, Storm, and their new friend Emerald, were heading home...
